Thrasos Announces Promising Results for Phase 2 THR-184 Dose Ranging Clinical Study for the Prevention of Acute Kidney Injury (AKI)

MONTREAL Canada & Boston MA, February 29, 2016 – Thrasos Therapeutics, a biotherapeutics company focused on delivering new solutions for kidney disease, today announced it has successfully completed its Phase 2, first-in-patients, dose ranging, clinical study of THR-184 for the prevention of acute kidney injury (AKI) in at risk patients undergoing cardiac surgery (NCT01830920). In the study, there was a reduction in the incidence of AKI in patients treated with the highest dose and THR-184 was safe and well tolerated. The effect was observed across different definitions of AKI and was most prominent in patients with underlying chronic kidney disease (CKD), which is an important risk factor for AKI.

Thrasos Strengthens Composition of Matter Coverage on THR-184 with Japanese Patent Decision

MONTREAL, November 10, 2015 – Thrasos Therapeutics, a biotherapeutics company focused on delivering new solutions for kidney disease, announced today that it received notice of a Decision to Grant on an important composition of matter patent from the Japanese Patent Office. This decision covers Application No. 2012-193673, entitled "Tdf-related compounds and analogs thereof." This patent provides coverage for Thrasos' lead product THR-184, currently in Phase 2 clinical testing for the prevention of acute kidney injury (AKI) in patients undergoing cardiac surgery. The Company's 452 patient Phase 2 trial has completed enrollment and data is expected in early 2016.

Thrasos Announces Successful Formal Interim Analysis and Clinical Update

Clinical trial continues following dose selection; enrollment has reached 200
MONTREAL, September 16, 2014 – Thrasos Therapeutics, a biotherapeutics company focused on delivering new solutions for kidney disease, today announced that a pre-planned formal interim analysis of 140 subjects enrolled in its Phase 2 clinical study of THR-184 for Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) has been completed. The study will now continue and the dosing strategy will be adjusted based on recommendations of the Independent Data Monitoring Committee (IDMC). At this time 200 subjects have been enrolled in the ongoing clinical trial.

Results of the studies were presented at the 51st European Renal Association - European Dialysis and Transplant Association (ERA-EDTA) Congress taking place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Thrasos Secures $35 Million to Fund THR-184 Phase 2 Clinical Program for Treatment of Acute Kidney Injury

 

MONTREAL, October 25, 2012 – Thrasos Therapeutics announced that it has completed a $35 Million (U.S.) financing for the development of THR-184, its lead product candidate for the treatment of acute kidney injury (AKI). The round was led by new investor, SR One, with funds coming from the GSK Canada Life Sciences Innovation Fund, part of GlaxoSmithKline’s commitment to advance the development and commercialization of scientific innovation in Canada. Five additional new investors and existing investor, SW Co, joined in the round. The new investors were Advanced Technology Ventures (ATV), Fonds de solidarité FTQ, Lumira Capital, MP Healthcare Venture Management and Pappas Ventures. With the financing, Thrasos plans to advance THR-184 through Phase 2 clinical proof of concept in AKI.
